In these terms and conditions, “IWCC” refers to the ” Modern Innovative Writing Challenge ” committee, this website (www.sfm.hk), and all services provided by the committee and the website. “We” refers to the committee and this website. “You”, “user”, “participant”, “registrant” refers to any natural person, legal person, or non-legal organization that uses this website or participates in any event published by the committee through this website.
Establishment and Effectiveness of the Agreement
This agreement is automatically considered to be fully read, understood, and accepted by the user after the following situations occur:
Filling out the registration form and completing the payment.
This agreement is effective for the entire duration of the event and the user’s use of this website or the services provided by this website, unless otherwise agreed upon with IWCC. During this period, this agreement will remain in effect and have contractual force for you and the committee. After this, you may not use the excuse of not reading or not agreeing to raise objections. If you disagree with the content of this agreement during the reading process, you can terminate the reading and stop using this website at any time.
Information Collection
We will collect personal information from participants, including but not limited to Name which will appear on your certificate, contact information(EMAIL which will be the ONLY way IWCC contacts with you), and age. Participants can use a pen name to participate and publish their works under that name. For participants who use a pen name, if they can prove the connection between their real name and pen name, IWCC will provide a certificate of award, or other necessary documents based on their real name. We will collect as little personal information as possible and keep the collected personal information strictly confidential.
You agree IWCC has the right to use and modify the submitted works, but the participants retain the ownership and rights to their works. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their works are original and have not been published elsewhere, and they must inform other platforms of the publication history if they submit their works to other platforms in the future.
Registration Fee
A registration fee is required. Please note that this fee is non-refundable once paid.
Disclaimer
IWCC is not responsible for changes or cancellations of the activity due to unforeseen circumstances.
Unforeseen circumstances include natural disasters, wars, strikes, epidemics, government bans, legal requirements, administrative orders or changes, and other unforeseen circumstances.
Participants need to assess the risks related to the activity themselves, and the committee does not bear any direct or indirect responsibility.
